European Youngsters Party

105 riders from ten nations came to the second European Youngster Classics at Bonn. They had their party at the Nations Night on Friday. They rode through the rain on Saturday and had fun in the sun on Sunday. "That was european communication at its best", concluded event director Uwe Spenlen.

On the sports side it was a feast for Katharina Winkelhues. With her new horse "Rubina" she won two out of three competitions for the Young Riders. In the Junior Class Thea Felicitas Müller made it. With her blind horse "Highway" she won two of the three tests, too. But right next to her was Sönke Rothenberger: The thirteen year old boy made it tough for the girls: He placed first, second and third with "Wolke 7". And there was no passing him at the pony competitions. The medal winner of the last European Championships won everything with his "Deinhard B".

The Nationscup for the Ponys and the Juniors went to Germany. The best Young Riders Team instead came from the Netherlands, thanks to the first place of Femke Beljon in this first round.

Spenlen is hoping that the city of Bonn will give more attention this international event next time: That will be May 29th to 31st, 2009. See you next year.
